Weaving Process: Weaving process is initiated after warping. Each thread from warp is attached to the loom threads which are left intentionally from the old warp. Generally, women take care of knotting process. Once knotting is done, the warp is ready for weaving. The weave is formed by interlacing the warp and the weft. The warp threads are processed with fly-shuttle with a cotton spindle loaded in it. The fly-shuttle travels from one end to another end, thus the weave formed by beating the wooden frame which is in front of the weaver. The formed weave is wounded to a wooden beam. The length of unwoven warp is left purposely at the starting of weaving and completion of one Lungi weaving. On completion of weaving the Lungiis folded traditionally and kept ready for marketing.

Products: Lungi is a casual wear worn around the waist by men in Tamil Nadu and also in other states of India. The body of the material is plain throughout and 2 meters in length. Extra care has been taken to maintain the super fine quality. Some of the designs are influenced by geometrical patterns such as lines and small checks in limited contrast colors. The popular colors used in Lungi weaving are light blue, dark blue, green, brown and white.
