Tools and Raw Materials
Cotton: Cotton is important material purchased from market and processed finely to clear the impurities in the yarn.
Spinning wheel: Spinning wheels are used to spin the yarn.In Kanchipuram, two types ofspinning wheels are used as per requirement. Wooden spinning wheel is used to spin the cotton bundle into big spool.Metal spinning wheel made using cycle wheel is used to spin the yarn from bigger spools into spindles.
Spindles: These are used to draw the cotton from spools which can be further inserted into fly-shuttle.
Fly-shuttle: This is used to process the weft through the shed. While weaving in the pit looms.
