Warping Process

  • Printer-friendly version

Warping process is done to prepare the lengthy warp which is later loaded into the loom for weaving. This process is done early morning in the village streets so that they can avoid thread breakages caused by excess heat. Warp threads are stretched and ends are tied between two poles. Artisan examines for breakages and entangles in the warp. Entangles are cleared and breaks are knotted. The warp is sized to make all the threads even. Prepared warp is rolled and loaded into the loom.
