Senior sculptor called Mr. Suresh. P is from Dakshina Karnataka. He has completed his course on sculpting at Karkala for one and a half years. This is his second camp with Shilpakala academy. Junior sculptor, Mr. Santhosh Kumar. D has completed a Master's degree in MBA. He has attended many camps based on painting, but he participates in a stone sculpting camp for the first time.  They sculpted the statue of Akka Mahadevi, who is the devotee of Lord Shiva. A banyan tree and Shiva Linga is being carved in the background of the statue.

Akka Mahadevi was born about 1150 A. D. at Udutadi in Shivamogga District of Karnataka. She was a daughter of Nirmalshetti and Sumati, who were great devotees of Shiva.  At the age of seven, Akka Mahadevi was initiated into Bhakti. She became a saint by the age of 16. She was a paragon of beauty and princess of lyrical poetry. She is one of the major poets of the Kannada Vachana literature. She talks about her great love for her Cenna Mallikarjuna – beautiful Lord, pure as white Jasmine through her poems.
