Oculus Rift which revolutionized the VR head mounted display was launched as a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign by Palmer Luckey after the formulation of his company Oculus VR in 2012. The first developer kit launched after a year envisioned a consumer level head mounted display that was way ahead of its predecessors with better ergonomics and build. The latest versions of Oculus Rift are equipped with precise head position tracking capabilities and better controller accessories.
