Nagas are masters of jewelry making, weaving especially traditional shawls, which gives identity to each tribe. There are wrap around patterns for different tribes as well as it identifies the gender, social status and specific region location of the weavers. Textile is the most dominating among Naga tribe and everyone weaves at their own place as it’s a cultural tradition passed on by their grandmothers. Also it plays an important role in gift giving. The most prominent color in the cloth is red. Red signifies blood, enemies and bravery. Various patterns and design required time and patience and it’s been wore by the warriors and individuals. The yarn used for plane weaved cloths are cotton, fiber and wild jute.  Nagas celebrate weaving also by singing songs during making of the cloths.
