Mangalagiri is a town in Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, India. The town is known for its sarees, which are simple cotton ones with wide borders made with gold or silver threads. These sarees come in rich colors and feature traditional Nizam designs. Common patterns include leaves, mangoes, parrots, gold coins, and rekhu.

To make these sarees, artisans use pure cotton threads. Some create natural dyes themselves or buy them from nearby cities like Vijayawada or Chennai. They use traditional tools for weaving, such as a warping wheel to prepare the threads, a reeling machine to make spools, a fly shuttle to move the threads while weaving, and a chakra to make the spindle.
