Paper Quilling are generally made with the handmade papers and the quilling strips that are used in different colours to obtain the design patterns. Quilling with paper requires basic tools like slotted tool, needle tool or use of toothpick or needles for making of the paper quilling’s.

With the help of slotted tool that is like a pencil like instrument with a slit or a slot, at the top portion that creates a tiny crimp at the center and slide the paper into the head of the tool. Generally with the use of thumb and index finger with little pressure to roll the paper around the needle. The strip pieces can be used by cutting pieces of paper in equal size or buy a pre-cut paper were the length of the strips depends on the patterns that has to be obtained.

After the strips of papers are rolled off to the required need glue is applied at the tail portions and fixed firmly. As the adhesive (glue) is fixing pinch the coil to the required shapes either of a leaf or of a triangle of an ear as per the need. Designs with the quilled angel helps in creating beautiful patterns that will make the craftsmen feel cherished and remembered about the results.

Some of the basic shapes of the coils are as follows tight coil, loose coil, Teardrop, curved teardrop, marquise, curved marquise, (asymmetric) heart scroll, square, simple loose coils and s-scroll.
